For the last few weeks, we’ve been working on applying a given technique to a range of attacks. We’ll be switching, for the next few weeks, to train on the “other axis”. During any given class we’ll be looking at a range of techniques in response a to fixed attack.
Sunday evening we’ll be looking at techniques in response to Yokomenuchi. Yokomenuchi, or “Yokomen”, is an angular strike to the temple/side of the head.
On Monday evening, we’ll be looking at techniques from a variety of Ushiro attacks, or attacks from the rear (e.g. rear grabs, rear chokes, etc)
Wednesday class will examine a variety of techniques from Shomenuchi, or a strike to the top of the head.
Saturday morning we’ll be working on techniques from Tsuki, or a linear punch.
During the course of the week, we’ll also be working on Jo Suburi. We’ll be breaking down the Suburi by series, and then working through all 20 Suburi on Saturday!
