Personal information may be collected from you in various ways, for example: –

1. Information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website.  This information may include, but isn’t limited to, data about your browser, your IP address, your general location (determined from your IP address and provided by your browser), the site you potentially entered from, and any links that you followed when leaving our site.  This information can potentially be collected through the use of cookies.  We do not collect personally identifiable information.

2. We only collect online personal information when you provide information as part of the registration process for our dojo newsletter.  This information can include  your name, email address, and any other details which you provide voluntarily.  Registration for our dojo newsletter is voluntary, and not required for dojo membership.

3. When you conduct activities on our site.  We collect statistics and log data relative to pages visited.  This data, in general, is obfuscated by IP address and aggregated for analytical purposes.

4. For payment processing purposes.  We use PayPal as a payment processor.  We do not store, nor do we have access to, payment related information (credit card information, etc).  Payment related email addresses are accessible by us and are treated as private information.  The use of PayPal is voluntary, and alternative methods of payment are available (e.g. personal check or cash).  Under no circumstances will any information collected as part of payment processing be provided to a third party.

5. As part of our class registration process.  When you choose to join our dojo, we ask you to fill out a registration form and liability waiver.  The information collected as part of this process is collected on “paper”, remains offline, and is used solely to support administrative and accounting processes.  This information will not, under any circumstances, be provided to a third party.

How Is The Information That We Collect Used?

We use this information to support the operation of the dojo, and in particular:

  1. To process dojo dues payments.
  2. For statistical and analytical purposes.  This data is used to facilitate website administration, improve our  services, and target our limited advertising resources.
  3. For internal record keeping and administrative purposes.  In cases where you’ve voluntarily signed up for our newsletter, we use this information to inform you about our events, services, any possible dojo closures, or other related information that we think would be of interest to you, as explained above.  Student registration information is used to support emergency contact information gathering, meet liability insurance requirements, and enable dojo operations.

Your information will not be disclosed, under any circumstances, to a third party. You may at any time ask us to cease sending our newsletter by either using the built-in Google Groups subscription management feature, or by sending an email with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject box to info@cos-aikido.com.
