After a few weeks of comparing “faux-Tatami” mats, we’ve settled on buying 30 2″ Zebra mats. Honestly, between Swain and Zebra, there were only a few minor differences in mat design. I spent some time interacting with both companies, and Zebra gets points for professionalism. They answered every one of my questions without hesitation, and when I asked them for a quote, they provided a formal quote. I also wanted a 2″ thick mat surface, so I can avoid having to lay a subfloor (for at least the first year). Dollamur no longer sells 2″ thick mats (they only sell “international standard” mats…).
We’ll be ordering so that mats arrive in the 1st week of April!
